The Hope Taylor Nashville Alumni Retreat Recap
I have so many words to say about this retreat that I don't know where to start! I guess a good place to start is at the beginning. Going to a retreat like this has always been a dream of mine and it just never seemed like the time was right or if it was going to work out. Not only did I want to connect with fellow creatives, but I am a firm believer of being a lifetime learner. You can always be learning something to make yourself or in this case, your business better! This retreat couldn't have worked out at a better time for me to attend. I have always wanted to travel back to Nashville since I have been there before and I wanted to see what was planned and in store!
After my eight and a half hour drive down on Friday, which let me mention that this was the first time I traveled that far by myself (Insane right? But completely liberating!), I got myself downtown and checked in to The Noelle in Downtown Nashville. HOLY COW this place couldn't have been more gorgeous!!! After I checked in I was helped with my bags and handed a homemade ice cream cookie sandwich as I rode the elevator up to my room.
If you ever get a chance to stay here...DO IT! Let my pictures of my room speak for itself.
Plus, The Noelle is walking distance away from some amazing restaurants and shops. It couldn't have been a better location.
A few minutes before dinner, all 25 of us met in the lobby to meet, chat and then walk to dinner. These are some of the nicest people I have ever met! I was certainly spoiled with this being my first photographer's retreat. We had dinner graciously provided by Honeybook at George Jones. It has a beautiful rooftop bar that looks over the river and Nissan Stadium. With the live music playing I defiantly felt welcomed back to Nashville.
On the morning of Day 2 we were welcomed by these INCREDIBLE donuts from Five Daughters Bakery. Seriously...don't these pictures make you want to have a bite?!? Hope also provided us with adorable and incredibly sweet gift boxes from Wish and Pink. We then dove into the first half of the workshop. Holy cow did I learn a lot! Even though we were in different seasons of our businesses, we all took something away which was awesome.
After a quick lunch downstairs at MakeReady which is in The Noelle we started the styled shoot. We had so many amazing vendors that participated.
We were also lucky enough to have a couple to pose as a bride and groom and three seniors. Below are some of my favorite photos from the shoot.
Hope was so generous to each give us a bit of her time during the shoot to personally mentor us in our businesses. This is what has helped me tremendously and I am so excited to implement everything she suggested.
There was a little bit of downtime to explore before dinner which was good because after this dinner at Fin & Pearl I wanted to go to bed! This food was so good and I have a crazy love for seafood which made it that much better.
On the last morning, I slipped the last bit of coffee delivered to my room. (Yes, complimentary coffee delivered to your room. Another reason to stay at the Noelle!) We all met for brunch at Henritta Red before heading our separate ways home.
This retreat was beyond incredible and I made some amazing friends while I was there. If you ever have the chance to invest in yourself and your education, do it. Do it as much as you can because you won't regret it. Until next time Nashville.
