How to be Wedding Day Ready
With wedding season already underway, I’m sure there are many jitters and excitement from brides and everyone involved. Getting married is an exciting time and a start of a new adventure. But how do you know that you are ready for the big day? No worries because I have you covered! Here are my steps to be wedding day ready and the best part is that this can be used for a bride, groom, bridal party or even a wedding guest! (Because they get drained too!)
1. Fuel your body
Leading up to the wedding day (as well as the day of) start eating healthier foods to fuel your body. I’m not saying totally rule out your chocolate chip cookies (because I can’t resist a good chocolate chip cookie!) but have them in moderation. You will start to notice that with this change your body will have more energy and feel better! Which you will need that energy come the big day. Check out this blog post from Blogilates on meal prep that is great for your body and tastes great too! I’m a HUGE advocate for meal prep so this can help you stay organized during your days of planning and prep before your big day. https://www.blogilates.com/how-to-meal-prep-28-day-reset-style/
2. Break in your shoes before
So you bought these beautiful shoes that go great with your outfit and you are imagining how amazing you will look. You seem to forget is how painful your day will be walking in those shoes and how you are just going to ditch them once the reception starts. Do yourself a favor and break in those shoes beforehand! You will be a lot more comfortable and it will show in your photos. It may seem like a chore but if you want to have those shoes to complete your outfit, you will be happier that they were broken in. 3. GET SLEEP
I cannot stress this enough, always, always, always get some good night’s sleep before the big day. Even if you are so excited that you can’t sleep, at least get yourself all ready for bed early so by the time you fall asleep you are already in bed! Getting enough sleep will have you feeling refreshed and ready for your day come morning and it will show in your pictures throughout the day. 4. Make sure you eat and have plenty of water
I have seen many brides, bridesmaids and guests pass out at weddings because they forget this step. It is super important not to forget! Whether you are a bride, groomsman or guest plan ahead by bringing a snack. I always pack a granola bar in my camera bag so as I can driving to the next location I can have a pick me up snack to keep my energy going. Have a water bottle with you. It may sound like a chore now but you will be thankful that you had it once you were outside in the hot sun for a hour taking pictures. To my couples, if you need a break to eat and take a drink, SAY SO! Your photographer will wait. If they haven’t scheduled time for you two to eat something and get a glass of water, make sure you make it clear that you need that time. 5. Have fun!
There are many tips out there to help you prepare for the wedding day but one I see very rarely is to have fun. This is a celebration so treat it as such! At the end of the day you will forget all the little things that went wrong and you will remember the great times shared with friends and family.
